Yonex Ezone Review: The Best Power Racquet for Any Skill Level

The Yonex Ezone has become one of the most popular tennis racquets in the world built for the modern game. It is actually one of the best tennis racquets for power on the market.

The Ezone is a well-balanced racquet built with great power, comfort, and feel. It has a 98-square-inch frame and open string pattern for plenty of spin.

We recommend the Ezone for any player who needs more controlled power from the baseline.

Although its stability isn’t great for an advanced racquet, its ability to combine power and feel is almost unmatched.

Here are the different models of the Yonex Ezone:

  • Ezone 98 – Standard model.
  • Ezone 98 L – Slightly lighter racquet for more comfort and maneuverability. (100 version)
  • Ezone 98 + – Slightly longer racquet for additional power and reach. (100 version)
  • Ezone 98 Tour – Slightly heavier racquet for advanced players to add power and stability.
  • Ezone 100 – 100 sq. in. head size for a larger sweet spot.

Yonex Vcore Review: Master of Spin

The Yonex Vcore has been made famous for its ability to create massive amounts of spin. It is very popular on the women’s tour, with three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber using this racquet.

This racquet is great for intermediate to advanced players looking to improve their game. It has a fast, thin frame, allowing players to get increased ball-pocketing. The frame even has the technology to reduce air resistance and increase maneuverability.

We recommend the Vcore for players who want added spin and maneuverability.

To prioritize all that spin, Yonex had to sacrifice some feel. This racquet can feel overly dampened and too powerful for some. Still, it is one of the best tennis racquets for spin on the market.

Here are the different models of the Yonex Vcore:

  • Vcore 95 – 95 sq. in. standard model.
  • Vcore 98 – 98 sq. in. standard model.
  • Vcore 98 + – Slightly longer racquet for added power and spin potential. (100 version)
  • Vcore 98 L – A lighter version that is easier to swing.
  • Vcore 100 – 100 sq. in. standard model.

Yonex Vcore Pro Review: A Racquet Engineered for Control

The Yonex Vcore Pro is designed for heavy-hitters looking to increase their control. Used by three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, this racquet offers the most control of all the Yonex tennis racquets.

The 97 square inch head and vibration dampening mesh give this racquet loads of feel. This sacrifices some power and responsiveness but helps with touch and feel. It is one of the best tennis racquets for control on the market.

We recommend the Vcore Pro for players who can create their own power and need something that offers better control and feel. It is great for precision on groundstrokes, returns, and volleys.

Advanced players will find that the Vcore Pro still has plenty of plow through and comfort but with added stability when compared to the Vcore. This is not a racquet for beginner or low-level intermediate players, but perfect for intermediate to advanced players.

  • Vcore Pro 97 H – For advanced players looking to play aggressively.
  • Vcore Pro 97 D – For advanced players looking for more weight and a tight string pattern.

Choosing the Best Yonex Tennis Racquet for You

When choosing a tennis racquet that fits your skill level and playing style, you have to consider what areas you need the most help with.

Yonex Vcore Pro with other racquets

If you’re an athletic, physically strong adult with big groundstrokes, you probably don’t need help with power. If however, you’re a USTA 3.5 tennis player who plays for fun on weekends and has a compact swing, a racquet with added power is exactly what you need.

The Ezone is Yonex’s best overall tennis racquet. It works for a wide range of players at any skill level. However, if you know you’ll need more help with control, the Vcore Pro is going to be a better racquet. The Vcore is the best Yonex racquet for intermediate to advanced players who want to create more spin to control the point.

The Yonex racquet you choose should be specific to your game. For more tennis racquets, check out our reviews and buyer’s guides below.
