SPIN-FRIENDLY PRECISION MEETS ARM-FRIENDLY COMFORT

Yonex Poly Tour Air is a co-polymer monofilament with an elastic HR polymer additive. The result is a spin-friendly control string with impressive shock-absorption. In fact, this is not only the softest poly-based string we've tested by Yonex, but it is also one of the softest polys we've ever tested in our Tennis Warehouse University String Lab. In addition to being an obvious choice for players looking to transition into the polyester universe, POLYTOUR AIR is perfect for the polyester veteran who wants a more tendon-friendly ride.

Comments: Strung at 52 and 51 pounds with DW machine, on a Head Gravity Tour racquet. It felt very magical the first two hours. I thought finally, the Holy Grail! Comfortable as a multifilament string, yet with the control and spin of a very good polyester. The power is also great. I could get the ball anywhere on the court, and my opponent told me to only blast and the ball will find it's way, and it was exactly like this! The next match I started to feel that the control is going away a little bit, and balls started to go long, where previously it was 30 centimeters inside the line. The little soft crunchy sound of the stringbed has almost completely gone. It was still very comfortable and I could get very powerful shots, but the margin for error was less great, since spin was diminishing. I measured with my app 46.5 pounds, so it did go down about seven pounds, which is not so bad, but also not so great. The next six hours it was about the same, with a little bit less control with every session.

Comments: On the package it's marked hard! But, use it with a very low tension like 47 pounds. This string becomes so responsive and very comfortable, and it also very good tension maintenance. One con I notice is that the spin becomes lesser as day goes by, but still a nice string with high playability. A not so popular one, but one of the best strings maybe not so many knew! Worth it, period.

Comments: Strung this in my Yonex VCORE 95 at 58 and 56 pounds. Very easy to string with much more elasticity than most polyesters I've tried. This string was a little too muted and plush for my taste. I wouldn't call this dead, I'd say it's soft, definitely not lively, but it still has enough responsiveness to feel the ball pocket and generate some launch angle on flatter dip drive shots. Not lively enough for my taste, though. I like to feel the characteristics of my frame when I hit hard, but with these, I feel the strings and not the frame.

Comments: I originally got this as a demo string from the guy that strings my racquets. This string is a very comfortable, but dead poly. It will remind you a little of Luxilon. I can hit hard with my 18x20 string pattern and still get a load of spin with my Head Pro Tour 630s and the ball goes right where I want it. Great pop on serve as well. I string at 54 pounds in my head Pro Tours and it feels plush and buttery.

Comments: Broke once while stringing at 58 lbs on a dropweight machine. Broke within 15 minutes in the other racquet. Usually string with gut, Lux or anything else with no problem. I've been stringing for 15+ years. I would suggest stringing this low.

Comments: I have been really impressed with this string. I am stinging this in a DR 98 at about 47 pounds. Its still a polyester string so its not as plush as a multi but its by far the most arm friendly Poly I have hit.In the past I have used shaped polys (RPM, Cyclone) and just wanted something a bit softer on the arm without playing a high powered string. I would call this a very soft poly that is still dead enough to take big swings and keep the ball in the court. My search has been an arm friendly, dead poly. This fit the bill.Spin I thought was good enough that I didn't notice an impact on my kick serve or my top spin balls. Great string that is now my standard.
