Overview

Introducing the Ripstick 100 300g! With this racquet Prince has created a powerful modern player's racquet with above average comfort for the breed. At 11.2 ounces strung, the Ripstick is not only fast enough for intermediate players, it also packs a near 330 swingweight, giving it enough stability and plow through to tempt the more advanced ball striker. This racquet's comfortable feel comes partly from the extra large O-Ports that surround the hitting area. This feature not only produces a more plush and powerful string bed, it also creates less wind-drag for easier acceleration. Additional features include Prince's Anti-Torsion System (ATS), which combines TexTreme and Twaron in the shaft and upper hoop to deliver a smoother, more stable hitting experience. On groundstrokes the Ripstick hits a powerful ball, making it easy for you to take control of the point. The open 16x18 pattern not only helps with spin-potential, it also provides a higher trajectory, resulting in easier access to depth. At net the Ripstick comes around with lightning speed, and it will give you enough power to finish points with a bang. This racquet also shines on serve where it rewards fast swings with enough pop to put the returner in check. With the introduction of the Ripstick 100 (300), Prince has delivered an impressive weapon to intermediate players in search of power. The arm-friendly comfort is a nice bonus.

Great power + spin racquet, arm friendlyI was looking for a new racquet with a bit more power and spin, after using various control racquets. The Ripstick is a perfect blend of power and spin and it's great for someone like me who is a bit older (50+) and learned tennis at an older age. It feels like the Pure Aero that I borrowed from a friend. While I'm about a 4.0 level player, my swing is still not considered powerful, so generating deep penetrating shots was always a challenge for me. The Ripstick is a blessing, since I'm now able to hit baseline shots consistently deep. The O ports make this 300g racquet feel much more lighter and gives you lots of racquet head speed. Since there is some trampoline effect from the racquet, you do need to add spin to all of your shots to ensure the ball stays in. This racquet is not meant for those lazy players that hit flat. I love hitting my 1H backhand with it and slices are great. Serves are fantastic for both flat firsts and second spin/slice serves. Volleys can be tricky against heavy hitters, but if you learn to control it then this highly maneuverable racquet can deflect and punch away tons of volleys. Best to pair this racquet with some low powered spin strings. I'm having great success with Prince Vortex Triad hybrid strung at 42/45 lbs. Despite an RA stiffness of 64, it still feels plush to hit with and doesn't bother my tennis elbow at all if you string it looser. Both my doubles and singles games have improved a ton with this racquet.

Good all aroundGood all around racquet. I demoed seven or eight rackets before settling on this one. I play singles and doubles. This is light enough to play at the net but has enough mass not to get pushed around by big servers. Also good spin for my kick serves and slice backhands. My old racquet gave me wrist problems but this is easy on the wrist and arm. I don’t see many other players with this racquet but recommend giving it a demo.

Does everything wellThis is a great racquet for an intermediate player. Loads of free power, excellent spin potential, and easy to whip through the air due to the giant O-ports. Super arm-friendly as well.

Topspin PlusThis racquet is the most aerodynamic racquet made. The wider thicker mm width gives me the power I need to compete at 60 years young. What makes this racquet so great is the design that allows you to swing on an upward fast trajectory behind the back of the ball, creating more topspin than I’ve ever dreamed of. The o port and speed ports designs are the greatest invention in tennis racquet technology in the last 20 years. This racquet will not disappoint. Thank you TW for carrying Prince equipment.

I was very surprisedI am a national tennis coach and recently I signed a contract with Prince. I demoed this frame and I was sure that there is no chance I will play with it (because of the o3). I was wrong big time , that is a very comfortable racquet with a great blend of control power and comfort. Highly recommended!

Between player's and power stickStrung with Solinco Hyper G 18G at 23kg. Solid power, ample spin. Quite good comfort, but certainly not like ProKennex or, e.g. Head Radical OS Microgel. What really stands out in comparison: most topspin racquets are lousy slicers. This one gives you solid slice shots as well. 2nd, the good swing weight given, remarkably fast swinging. If you have a mixed game, give this a try.

Great racquet for intermediate levelFull disclosure, I have always been partial to Prince racquets even after trying Wilson, Dunlop, and Head demo racquets. My last racquets were the Prince O3 series, and I was sold on the balance of power and control. 9 years later, I decided to look for the modern version and found it in the Ripstick. Similar to the O3 series, the racquet has a good balance of power and control with slight edge to the power aspect. It has a large sweet spot and generates amazing topspin and backspin. Flat shots are a bit harder to hit given the power, but I have really come to like this racquet. It might not be the best for beginners due to need to know how to hit spin shots, but I wouldn't shy away from this racquet if you are interested in progressing quickly. Would highly recommend this racquet to any intermediate level player.

Great racquet! It's powerful, so I'd err a couple pounds tighter than you typically string! I put this in my bag, playing with two Babolat Pure Aero's (318g each, as played w/ dampeners) and a Head Extreme MP (317g, as played). It felt a little heavy, but performed very well. I had it strung at 53lbs w/ Yonex POLYTOUR REV 17. Felt too light (powerful) for me, but I am used to my other racquets (all three strung 55m/57crosses, w/ Quasi gut). I tried this lighter stringing, as I've had recent onset of elbow pain, from playing 15+ hours of tennis per week. Great theory, but too much change. This racquet is very powerful, so I wouldn't string it lighter than what you're used to, at least at first. I had it restrung with my usual Head Lynx 17ga, 55 lbs in mains and X-Tourna Quasi Gut 17ga, at 57 lbs in the Crosses, and I am very happy with the racquet! And, because of the o-ports, it's notably easier on my elbow, even at the same tension. I've read that because of the o-ports, it chews up strings a bit faster, but that's okay. I have my racquets strung often enough. It's visually pleasing, and sparks frequent conversations. Looked amazing with the Yonex orange string! I need to try that string again, at the higher tension. If you're curious, try it. It's a very serious racquet, that plays great! But, strung at 53 lbs I had a notable increase in long/errant shots. I'd string it a couple of pounds tighter than you string your more conventional racquet. I'm a 40 year old 4.0 that hits with a lot of topspin and a SHBH (single hand back hand). I think that this is a great racquet for SHBH players!

Comments: Took me awhile to get use to the O ports and several restring attempts to dial this beast in. Now it is my racquet of choice. Similar to Pure Strike but not as powerful and better control. I would string this racquet a couple of pounds heavier and use a hybrid setup.

Comments: I have used many frames over the years and I keep coming back to Prince. For most of junior and college playing days, I stuck with (and loved) the Prince Graphite Mid. As I have moved into my later 40's, I have found that I needed something a bit more arm friendly, but still provides my game the control I need. This was the one! During the demo, I put this one in the cart not thinking seriously that it would be an option. I was wrong! Any arm/wrist issue I had at the time went away immediately. I had pin point accuracy off both sides which surprised me as well. Great job Prince!

Comments: I got this racquet on a lark. It looked like a fun hit, plus it was on sale. After two weeks I'm sold on it. Thought I was buying a novelty stick for my tennis bag, but now I'm seriously considering a switch from my VCORE 98 to the Ripstick full time. Tremendous power, but equally impressive access to spin is keeping my groundies in the court. Volleys are more stable than I expected too and - perhaps most surprising for a frame this wide - slicing with it is a dream. Really loving it.

Comments: The Ripstick delivers on power and spin with excellent comfort absent in many power and spin frames. I enjoyed the frame the most when I was hitting looping topspin groundstrokes and heavy spin serves. Touch and feel on delicate volleys were missing, but that is not always valued in a power and spin frame. This beats Babolat Pure Aero and Pure Drive in comfort. The cosmetic is awesome. It is modern and fits the easy punch this frame provides. I highly suggest a demo if you want comfort with easy power and spin.

Comments: I just got a brand new demo yesterday and my first experience with it has been a very positive experience, needlessly busy cosmetics not withstanding. I will be playing a match with the Prince Ripstick tomorrow so I'll know more then, but I couldn't find anything to object to. Power and control were plentiful. I'm not a huge spin player, but volleys and overheads were rock solid and spin was there if I wanted it. It honestly felt like a less stiff and powerful Babolat and that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I value placement over power. I have a week to demo still and wouldn't be surprised if I pick a couple of these honeys up and take them home.
