Overview

Rising intermediate players looking for an arm-friendly racquet with impressive all-around playability have come to the right place! It's called the Ripstick 100 280g and like the best modern player's racquets, it will help you load the ball with pace and spin. At only 10.4 ounces strung, this speedy racquet is not only suitable for intermediates, it should also work for the dedicated beginner or savvy doubles specialists in the market for speed, power and spin. Compared to the Ripstick 100 300g, this stick is lighter and faster, making it easier for the player to prepare the racquet and achieve effective contact with the ball. This racquet gives you the benefit of extra large O-Ports a feature that produces a more plush and powerful string bed along with less wind-drag for easier acceleration. Additional features include Prince's Anti-Torsion System (ATS), which combines TexTreme and Twaron in the shaft and upper hoop to deliver a smoother, more stable hitting experience. On groundstrokes the Ripstick 100 280g feels plush at impact, with impressive accuracy on full swings. As with the heavier 300 gram version, power comes easy, and the open 16x18 string pattern is extremely spin-friendly. At net this racquet's quick handling will help you stay active. Although not quite as stable as the Ripstick 100 (300), this racquet's head heavy balance helps when redirecting higher levels of pace. This stick also shines on serve where you'll find enough power and spin to coax weak replies. Ultimately, with the Ripstick 100 280g, Prince delivers the high comfort that we've come to expect from their O-Port frames. Intermediate players looking for a speedy and spin-friendly weapon with plenty of power should give this one a serious look.

Rip itI'm a 5.0 player that went through rotator cuff surgery. I've always played with Prince throughout my juniors and adult league tournament play. Been out of the game for a while because of the injuries and picked this racquet up. It is so easy on my shoulder elbow and wrist. The amount of power and spend is excellent. I thought it might be too flexible for my liking, but this is one of the most easiest and arm-friendly sticks I've ever played with. I bought two and went to Nationals with both of them undefeated with my partner. I'm about to purchase two more, would highly recommend it. Didn't care too much for the cosmetics and a little while for me but I had them custom painted and I will do the same with the next two. I challenge anybody to try it out. It's excellent at the net and serve returns. I don't work on my serve so it took me a while to get used to it but I have it down now. It's a great frame.

4.75 Stars of Fun!I rediscovered this racquet a couple of weeks ago. It was strung with poly and I've stayed away from it since injuring my shoulder. I cut out the poly and restrung it with prince lightning @47 lbs. and boy is this a fun racquet to hit with! it excels at almost every aspect of the game whether I'm using it to play practice sets with my 12 year old, rallying with my wife, running the high school team through drills or hitting feeds to 9 year olds. I did deduct a quarter of a star because the ball still seems to spin quite a bit even when i try to flatten out my stroke and hit a driving shot. that being said, it seems like I get a bit more control out of this frame than I do my "daily driver" (Head Gravitys).

Demo ProcessI spoke with an associate at Tennis Warehouse and he actually recommended this racquet based on discussions about my swing, playing style, and physicality. I tried 4 different racquets and decided on buying this racquet. I really love the racquet and I thought the process was amazing because I know how hard it can be to purchase racquet off the internet. Well done Tennis Warehouse for making the process so easy!

Comments: My Ripstick grip, 4 3/8", seems a little bigger than the many other Prince racquets I have had over 20 years. I have one Tourna Grip wrap on it, same as my other Prince racquets, but I think this is the first Prince racquet I have had with the white, soft grip. Is this all in my head or is this grip slightly bigger with this white grip?

Comments: Just got mine, I play about 14 hours a week, great stick out of the box. Power and spin, more arm-friendly coming from my Wilson Ultra 100L. Very colorful frame to enhance the experience. Power on the backhand takes about ten minutes to adjust. Overall my new racquet of choice.
