This arm-friendly player's racquet is defined by its raw speed, easy power and spin-friendly targeting. The great price is a nice bonus!

Head adds another chapter to Instinct MP! This 2022 cosmetic update features the same specs and technologies as the 2020 Graphene 360+ Instinct MP.  As such it is Ideal for big swinging intermediate players, especially if they crave raw speed and easy targeting. The instinct MP 2022 also packs a 64-RA stiffness, making it one of the most arm-friendly racquets in its class. The signature technology is Graphene 360+, which combines the stability and power of Graphene 360 with SpiralFibers in the lower region of the head for a cleaner feel at impact.  On the court, this racquet's easy acceleration makes it great for whipping up spin or cranking winners on the run. It also offers quick handling at net, making it easier for you to stay active and pounce when opportunity knocks. The fact that it comes at a more attractive price than the majority of its competitors makes it hard to beat.

Under the radar, lower-cost gemI kind of got hooked on Graphene with a Radical in 2016 or so. Something about the light thin throat and feel suited my swing style and I haven't really enjoyed other racquet types as much. I was using the the 2016 or 2017 Instinct for a bit and my racquet was getting chewed up, so I decided to get the the latest version. I guess since no famous face is on these anymore they run a bit cheaper. Compared to the 2017-ish version these aren't as harsh on impact, I guess due to the Graphene 360 tech, but I still love this racquet. To me, a lot of things come together properly with these. Very good power... not too flexible, but not jarring and 100 square inches. I hit flat with a high tension. 58 pounds for the Lynx in the mains and 60 pounds for the Head synthetic gut in the crosses. Very good racquet at a reasonable price.

Very good racketStrung with 48 pounds (Pro Line II) Good precision and free power. Touches and volleys are easy to do. but the swing weight on this racquet is higher than 313. It's close to 320. Player 4.0.

Instinct Mp 2022This racquet.. I think you need to be a relatively familiar player to use it well. It rewards clean hitting with a powerful and consistent sweetspot. It is forgiving on the arm and dampens shots very well (no shock absorbers needed). It is a powerful server. But, if you get the ball closish to the frame, you will lose both power and control. So when playing with this racquet, you need to prioritize your form and allow the racquet to do its work... if you try to overhit it, it doesn't seem as consistent. Also, be patient with it... it takes a little while to understand this racquet and play well with it.

Love it!After tons of research and consultation with a racquet/stringer expert I took a gamble in this racquet without demo-ing it and couldn't be happier. I get the power and touch I was looking for in upgrading my racquet. I'm seeing better consistency in my strokes and no more elbow pain. I'm a strong 4.0 playing 20+ years. Definitely recommend it. It's working for me!

Great responsive racketI bought two racquets for my high school varsity son and I (his Mom) to try out. This one had a great response. Balls could be picked up from anywhere and sent back with a lot of action. It is a bit heavy for me, so my son is going to use it. He also thought it was a little heavy at the head, but is willing to get used to it. He hits with top spin, but this racquet helped get deeper shots with even more topspin. It was really surprising and a terrific price.

Does it all with no vicesWow, who knew this was a great racquet? I am a former Pure Drive user who switched to the Speed MP after the Pure Drive hurt my arm (as it's known to do), and later ended up with the Gravity Pro when I moved up to 4.5 rating and am trying to get to 5.0. I played with the new Instinct MP just for fun and was surprised how much I like it. It is like the Pure Drive without the arm pain. The spin is on par with both the Pure Drive and Speed MP. Slightly less power than the Pure Drive but noticeably more control. Very, very similar to the Speed MP in both power and control--just a tad less control on hard shots and serves. More predictable string bed than the Pure Drive, and a tad more so than the Speed MP. Does everything well, including volleys and serves. It's a low swingweight racquet, so it can't absorb pace like my Gravity Pro (from which, I won't be switching), but you'd need to face very strong competition from big hitters before this racquet will get pushed around. This is a tremendous choice for anyone 4.5 or below. I even prefer it to the Extreme MP, which to me is overpowered. Head doesn't publish the CPI (probably because they want to push you into buying fancier rackets!) but for previous, slightly stiffer models the CPI was 600. My guess is it's 500 for this model.

Just like last years model but betterThe new colors are amazing. The amount of spin I got off the racquet is incredible.

Like a Pure Drive without the stiffness!I demoed numerous racquets before deciding on the Head Instinct MP. I'm mostly a baseliner with heavy topspin, but have been playing much more doubles. At 43, I had to come to the realization that I needed a little more help from my frame to generate power (I previously used a Head Pro Tour 280, the same stick I had since high school). Babolat racquets seem very en vogue, so I tried a Pure Drive. I did not like it - it felt rigid, I felt disconnected from the ball, and after 30-40 minutes my arm was hurting. I definitely enjoy a more flexible frame. The Instinct MP seems much like a Pure Drive, but with a much more flexible frame. It has a bit of heft, but isn't too heavy. I have found that it's maneuverable yet solid at the net. My serves have more pop and I have controllable power on all my shots. I do not like polys and string mine with Gamma T NT at 50-53 pounds, and am quite happy. If you're looking to find a racquet with a bit more power that is still comfortable (and affordable!), the Head Instinct MP should be on your list.
