Surgical, spin-friendly and uniquely fast, the Extreme Tour gets updated with Auxetic technology for 2022

Introducing the Extreme Tour 2022! With this update, Head delivers a uniquely fast and spin-friendly weapon to intermediate and advanced players. Featuring the smallest head size in the Extreme family (98in²), this model packs a tad more control than the Extreme MP. Although too underpowered for those who require the mass-based pop of a traditional player's racquet the Tour is perfect for those who crave easy acceleration from the baseline and lightning quick reactions at net. For 2022 the product team at Head adds an Auxetic construction to the yoke which optimizes the feel and response according to impact force. Additional technologies include Spin Grommets which enable greater string movement for enhanced snapback. Like the previous generations, this racquet benefits from Graphene 360+, giving it extra stability and power.  Ultimately, this is a great option for aggressive players looking for a speedy and spin-friendly weapon.

Perfect blend of control and powerI have the 360+ and Auxetic versions and they play very similarly with the Auxetic being slightly more plush. The feel of this racquet is radically different (and better IMHO) with a dampener. This is one of the few racquets in which I can hit a lot of spin or very flat shots. I like to return serves aggressively and this racquet gives control and power, and the lighter swing weight enables an aggressive swing without losing stability. Good serving racquet as well with very good power and ability to put a lot of spin and kick. I string at 46 pounds with Luxilon ALU Power Rough.

Best racquet since 2022!!!Stable as a Wilson Blade 98, forgiving as a Yonex Vcore 98, as much spin as a Pure Aero 98, maneuverable as a Wilson Pro Staff 97. This is the best racquet in the last two years.

Amazing frameI love this racquet. Really fun to use while offering a good combination of power, spin, and control with good feel. I tried lots of 98's and this was my favorite. Love the cosmetic as well.

Spectacular stockI ordered this racquet prestrung with the expectation that I would need to customize it (as I do with all of my racquets) to get the feel right for me. This is the only racquet I have ever been able to use stock (I did add a TW dampener, but that's it). No leather grip. No sharp strings. I am seriously considering switching to this from the Pro Staff. It's that good.

Great control and good power and comfortI demoed seven different racquets to shift from a power (Pure Drive) to a control frame. My big concern was getting tennis elbow again. But what I found was the perfect blend or control, power and comfort. I could tell within.five minutes and after a month, it still holds true. I recommend this to anyone looking for a control frame. I strung it with Hyper G Soft at 51, but a pound or two less would feel great too. It was worth every penny.

Big Fan of this RacquetI'm just an intermediate player who's been playing tennis for about 15 months. But I really enjoy playing with this racquet. It's got what I like. Spin, control, comfort and a headlight balance. I like to swing away so I don't gel with overly powerful racquets. I've also been prone to tennis elbow all my life and this racket feels comfortable to me and hasn't caused any issues. Definitely very similar to the Pure Aero VS I had been using. Maybe a little less power but has a softer feel. Similar in spin and control to the VS. I've tried a number of other racquets but will be sticking with this one for a while. The racquet does respond to the right strings and a little weight in the hoop so you just find what works best for you. RPM Blast seems to be a decent string for this racket so that might be a good place to start. I originally put Confidential strings in it and it was horrible but that might have been a bad string job. Hyper G Soft was my favorite string in the Pure Aero VS and I haven't tried it in this racket. But I'm kind of OCD and am hesitant to put green strings in a green racket. The green racquet is begging for black strings so I'm sticking with the RPM Blast at the moment.

Solid and powerful!I purchased last year. I have all natural gut Luxilon 16. Strung at 52 tension. I have power and touch. Love it compared to my Wilson Roland Garros purchased in 2021. It's more powerful yet still has spin and touch. I am 3.5 USTA. I see several tour players using this racquet ! LOVE the colors also. Get one! Good investment. ALWAYS use the Head hydro grip. Amazing grip that comes w the factory purchase from Tennis Warehouse.

Well rounded weaponI was initially hesitant to demo/consider the Extreme line as I had a perception that the line is Head's answer to the Babolat Aero. This racquet (and the MP, which was just a tough too powerful for me) is something entirely different. Tremendous amount of feel for a variety of shots. Surprisingly, an absolute weapon on drop shots and slice. Can dial up spin and hit flat. Kick serves are a breeze. I also love the cosmetic. Super super soft feel - if you like a plush feel at contact this is your racquet. The only negative is I think this is light in stock form. On my first demo it got pushed around returning big serves. I've never used lead/tungsten before, but a few grams at 3 and 9 solved the issue (also tried some from 10-2, just at 10-2, and 10-2 and 6 and all configs diminished the feel).

A Plus Players StickVery fast but still surgical. The bigger I hit the more control I received. You have to generate your own power, I would recommend the mid 40 lbs for string tension. Volleys are very clean and the stick has enough mass to create precise volleys! Serves a lot like the Wilson blade with just a bit more spin. Overall a very spin friendly and control oriented weapon!

The Better Wilson BladeThis new update to the Head Extreme Tour has been the best racquet I have ever tried. I am currently a Wilson Blade 98 V8 player and also currently demoing. My normal game is a fast swing with lots of spin and let me say this Head Extreme Tour ticks all those boxes. My Blade was incapable of handling my natural fast swing causing the ball to either go in the fence or net. With this racquet, I felt like I had a lot more control and spin with the same string strung on my Blade. I highly recommend this racquet to any Wilson Blade users out there.
